Bocas is Panama’s region with the highest numbers of school dropouts; 35% of the kids quit school before 9th grate (16 years of age) and most illiteracy in Panama’s rural areas. Bocas Chess wants to help their students to develop collaboration, communication, creativity

and critical thinking- skills through chess education.They hope the world will be a little different through their efforts to empower students to pursue their goals and support the future of the Bocas del Toro Community. Bocas chess teaches and trains students in the mental

sport of chess, promote chess and participate in chess tournaments. Bocas chess is an official Panamanian non-profit sports organization, leaded by people volunteering and dedicated to give local children the best opportunities possible and therefor depend on

donations and volunteers.
